CommunityWise Resource Centre (CWRC or CommunityWise) is located in the heart of Calgary’s Beltline, maintaining a beautiful venue that provides offices, meeting rooms, activity spaces, and both indoor and outdoor common spaces for over 80 member organizations. United by the concept of “colocation” (together in the same space), CommunityWise believes that when diverse, multi-sector groups co-exist in the same location, the result is more than the sum of its parts.
In 2016, KRD Consulting Group was contracted to conduct an Outcome Harvest alongside other developmental evaluation activities. The Harvest was designed to reveal impacts that occurred throughout the implementation of the “Collaborative Framework” project. The findings surfaced learnings along multiple domains of change, as well as revealing unexpected outcomes. Evaluation findings were mapped separately onto relevant internal and external frameworks.
CommunityWise Resource Centre is also committed to supporting practicum students in programs at the University of Calgary, Mount Royal University, and Columbia College. Although CWRC had hosted multiple practicum students over the period of five years, the initiative had not yet been formalized into a program, evaluated, or included explicitly into strategy documents. In 2017, KRD Consulting partnered again with CWRC to fill in these gaps. One part of this included an Outcome Harvest, which revealed program impacts and shortcomings.
